in our disclaimer.
Mt Hassell peak is 847m above sea level and can be accessed by a designated walking trail that is 4kms return and takes about 2.5 hours return to complete and is rewarded by beautiful views. Mt Hassell was Burnt in January 1996 as a result of lightning strike but has regrown well since. This popular hike finishes with a short steep scramble over a dome of rock, forming the summit. Mt Hassel is also well endowed with flowers during spring
Mt Hassell is located in one of Western Australia’s few mountain wildernesses, the Stirling Range National Park which is a place of contrasts.
Please not that it is a steep climb and should not be attempted if you are not fit and agile, wearing appropriate clothing and boots, carrying sufficient water and prepared to scramble over rocky areas the walk is rated as medium difficulty walk. Additionally if you have a fear of heights it also may not be for you. It is also not one for little kids.
The cache is an ammo box on just below the summit. The cache is in a crevice with some broken rock pieces over. They should stand out from the mossy rocks around. There cache the usual logbook, pencils and some swaps.
