Geocache Description:

Whyalla is a very sporting community with a large number of different sports available. A few already have cache tributes therefore I think it is only fitting that a series of Whyalla sporting caches be placed to tribute a few more.

Another sport very close to my heart with many years of play from a very young age and played at a very competative level. A sport that a lot of people have played, whether in a competition, tournament or just socially on the back verandah with friends. That said, it is largly miss-understood by the masses in Australia and rarely sees any air time on TV with more 'popular' sports more commonly seen. Although around since the 1800's and originating in England, Table Tennis only became an Olympic sport in Seoul 1988. With more than 40 million players worldwide, table tennis has the largest player-base of any sport. The Chinese have been the most dominant players internalltionally for the last 45 years and throughout Olympic competition. Since 1988, China has won 20 of the 24 gold medals awarded. Gates are locked after 11pm every night therefore I suggest a daytime hunt.
