IMPORTANT!!! Yard is available for tourists, but not always open. Best chance is at daytime during summer. Entrance to the Yard of Alumnat is from Universiteto street directly OR if gates are shut, you can access it through Fiorentino restaurant (just ask if you can visit the yard). Cache itself is NOT IN THE MAIN YARD. Find elephants!!! Hiding location is mildly observed by president mansion cameras! Use hint, locate with your eyes and step away for signing! This should cause no attention.

Pasinaudokite uzuomina, suraskite akimis ir pasirashykite pasitrauke i shona! Taip isvengsite bereikalingo demesio.
EN: The elephants of Alumnat were reborn in autumn of 2011. They were meant to be a temporary outdoor table for the local chess club. As always with temporary things - they lived a lot longer than they were supposed to. Elephants are made from cement that is not very suitable for such climate conditions, so their quick erosion cannot be avoided. The yard of Alumnat itself is one of the most beautiful examples of Renaissance architecture in Vilnius old-town. This was Pope's missionary priest seminary established in 1528 by Pope Gregory XIII. Activities of this establishment were pointed towards the lands of Orthodox Church and Protestantism. Seminary was mainly occupied by studying foreigners.
The last object to be noticed is the large inner yard of President Palace. Afterwards you can go back to Fiorentino outdoor tables and drink to my health ;) This used to be my favorite place called SoleLuna, but all the good things come to the end... Btw, bicycles are welcomed and allowed!
LT: 2011 metu rudeni atgime vienas is mieliausiu Vilniaus senamiescio mazosios architekturos elementu – Alumnato drambliukai, ant savo akmenines nugaros laikantys sachmatu lenta. Drambliuku autorius V.Jankunas, dabar gyvenantis JAV, pasakojo, kad tai buvęs jo, tuomet dar Vilniaus Dailes akademijos studento, diplominis darbas. Sumanymas esa buves paprastas - tais laikais ten veikusiam sachmatininku klubui sukurti lauko staliuka. „Kai juos sukuriau, negalvojau, kad bus ilgam, taciau, kaip patirtis rodo, laikinos strukturos kartais issilaiko ilgiausiai“,- sake skulptorius. Tiesa, drambliukams, matyt, lemta nuolat trupeti ir byreti, o veliau atgimti. Ir pikta zmoniu veikla cia niekuo deta. Tiesiog skulpturos padarytos is balto cemento, medziagos, kuri nera labai tinkama ir atspari musu klimato salygoms.
Alumnatas – vienas gražiausiu renesanso architektūros paminklu Vilniuje, esantis senamiestyje. Tai popiežiška misijinė kunigu seminarija, įsteigta 1582 m. popiežiaus Grigalijaus XIII. Veikla buvo nukreipta į stačiatikiu ir protestantiškus kraštus. Seminarijoje mokėsi daugiausia užsieniečiai. 1622 m. išmūryti rūmai, į kuriuos įsiliejo anksčiau toje vietoje stovėjęs gotikinis namas su rūsiais. XVII a. viduryje Alumnato rūmuose įrengta koplyčia. Itališko renesanso stiliaus rūmai su trimis aukštais išdestytomis arkadomis supa reprezentacinį kiemą. XVII a. kiemo gilumoje buvo pastatyta koplyčia.
Pabaigai, dar turite galimybe pamatyti vidini prezidenturos kiemeli, o po to Fiorentino lauko kavineje (atsiras vietos ir dviraciui) isgerti i mano sveikata :) Kazkada cia veike mano pamegtoji SoleLuna, bet visa kas gera turi savo pabaiga...
