Geocache Description:

Jubilee Country Park

**** The JCP and JCP 2015 caches will be archived ****
*** (in March 2020) and replaced with a new series ***

One of the London Borough of Bromley's most significant nature reserves, Jubilee Country Park is an area of woodland and wildflower and grassland meadows which stretches over 62 acres. The site is home to a vast number of species of plant and wildlife, many are protected and are rarely seen in the London area.

The park is located near to Petts Wood and can be accessed from seven entrances, three on Southborough Lane, three on Blackbrook Lane and one through Hawks Wood. There are also three car parks in Blackbrook Lane, Thornet Wood Road and Tent Peg Lane.

This series of seven caches has been placed to commemorate the visit by the Queen and Prince Philip to Bromley on 15 May 2012 as part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations. The caches are, appropriately, in the Jubilee Country Park and have been placed with the permission of the site manager for Jubilee Country Park.

The walk around the series is about 2 miles. The paths in places can be muddy and waterlogged in bad weather. Wheelchair users can get close to the caches in good weather, but assistance will be required in most cases to retrieve the cache. The area is a local nature reserve, please treat it with respect.
