Geocache Description:

Number 6 of a series of caches that take you on a circular tour of the Harelaw Dam. The whole series takes about 2 hours and walking boots are recommended.

Harelaw Dam was constructed in 1844. It is a large shallow reservoir (average depth 7 feet and maximum 13 feet) extending to 102 acres and has over 3 miles of shoreline. There are 4 dams and three islands.

The sixth cache in the series is another cache with a name inspired by the shape of reservoir when you see it on the 1:25000 OS map. We think it definitely looks like an elephant and you are standing next to the trunk! We're sure the kids will get it even if the adults don't!
