Kiu Tau Wai Traditional Cache

Kiu Tau Wai is one of walled village ( Wai ) of Ping Shan. The built walls around their villages to keep out rival clans, marauding bands of pirates, and even tigers prowled in the area.
Some walled villages are surrounded by a moat. It is for protective reasons and may be fung shui reason as well. You still can see it, although it was improved by concrete river bed and anti-flooding pump.
Don't go into Kiu Tau Wai. The villagers do not happy with sightseeing tourists. Just stay outside and look around.
