Gusthaugen i Stod, er et gammelt sted, og navnet henspeiler på det gamle ordet ”gust” som betyr vindkast eller vindstøt. Dvs. Gusthaugen var som vi skjønner en plass hvor det er mye fallvinder og ustabil luft.
På Gusthaugen, og langs moreneryggen vestover er det mange gravhauger. En gravhaug er en haug av løsmasse og stein anbragt over et gravsted. Gravstedet kan inneholde flere graver. Det er vanlig med en primærgrav i sentrum av haugen, og det kan være satt ned sekundærgraver lenger opp i haugen. Haugenes størrelse varierer betraktelig, kanskje i forhold til den dødes status. Vanligvis er en gravhaug rund i grunnplanet, og kalles da en rundhaug. Avlange hauger, gjerne ovale i grunnplanet, kalles langhauger. Det finnes også flere varianter. En av de mest spesielle er de trekantede treuddene.
Gusthaugen har i mange generasjoner vært brukt av bygdefolket, som en treffplass, og har vært brukt av Forr Ungdomslag i mange år, og da spesielt ved oppsett av ungdomslagslokale og Gusthaugen Kafe. Kafeen er i dag nedlagt.

Gusthaugen in Stod, is an old place, and the name refers to the old word "gust" which means wind gusts or wind shock. Gusthaugen was as we know a place where there are a lot fall winds and unstable air. On
Gusthaugen, and along the moraine in west, there are many burial mounds. A burial mound is a mound of soil and stone applied over a grave. The gravesite can contain several graves. It is common for a primary grave in the center of the pile, and it may be smaller secondary tombs further up the mound. The mound's size varies considerably, perhaps in relation to the deceased's status. Generally, a circular mound in the ground, and is then called a round mound. Flat mounds, usually oval-shaped ground plane, called the long mounds. There are also several varieties. One of the most remarkable is the triangular treuddene.
Gusthaugen has for generations been used by local people, as an meeting place, and has been used by Forr Ungdomslag for many years, and especially the house with assembly room and Gusthaugen Cafe. The cafe is currently closed.
