Die politische Gemeinde Widnau entstand erst am 1. Juli 1883 durch Abspaltung von Diepoldsau, zu dem Widnau seit 1803 gehört hatte. Seit dieser Neugründung ist im Kanton St. Gallen keine neue Gemeinde durch territoriale Abspaltung entstanden. Die katholische Pfarrei Widnau gehört seit dem 29. Oktober 2005 zusammen mit den katholischen Pfarreien Balgach und Diepoldsau-Schmitter zur Seelsorgeeinheit Widnau-Balgach-Diepoldsau-Schmitter. Auch die Evangelisch-reformierte Pfarrei ist in der Kirchgemeinde Diepoldsau-Widnau-Kriessern regional vernetzt. Dieser kleine cache soll euch hier hin führen um euch die Pracht und Schönheit unserer widnauer Kirche von aussen aber auch von innen zu zeigen. Viel Spass und vor allem Glück beim suchen!!! The municipality Widnau arose only on 1 July 1883 after its separation of Diepoldsau, where it previously belonged to since 1803. Since then no other new community has been established by territorial secession in the canton of St. Gallen. The Catholic parish Widnau did belong since 29 October 2005, together with the Catholic parishes Diepoldsau-Schmitter and Balgach to the pastoral care association Widnau Diepoldsau-Schmitter-Balgach. The Evangelical Reformed parish is regionally linked in the parish Diepoldsau-Widnau-Kriessern. This small cache shall attract you to get here to get you fascinated about the splendor and beauty of our Widnau church from the outside as well as from the inside.
