The Big Bank
The "little" branch

The cache is located in a brand new park that at one time was a dirt parking lot for workers of the former Fisherville mill that was located across the street. For some history on this mill Click Here

The park will host public events and is bounded by the Blackstone river and a remnant of the Blackstone canal. The canal is currently undergoing bio-remediation

This was built by in 1937 by my Father and Grandfather and served as a branch bank for both the Grafton Savings Bank and the Grafton Co-Operative Bank. It was designed to represent a scaled version of the Grafton Savings Bank located in Central Square near the Grafton Common. The original savings bank building in Grafton Center is now owned by Magill Associates. The smaller building served as a working bank in South Grafton (Farnumsville)until it was purchased by the Grafton Historical Society in 1967 and moved to a location on Upton Street next to the Grafton post office. It served as the first headquarters of the Historical Society. It is now located just a short distance from its original home. To view a press release about this, click here The Bank returns home
