This small cache is hidden just off the platform of the former Bryn Teifi station.
Until recently this had been a rubish dump, but the council have cleaned it up and exposed the platform and track bed.
There are plans to clear the old track bed on from here through the tunnel. The cache is a small camouflaged pot, walk down the platform to the end, past the concrete bunker.
Bryn Teifi was on the Manchester to Milford line, north of Pencader junction. The line from Pencader to Lampeter opened on 1st January 1866, but this station wasn't built until 1869. It was origionally called 'Cross Inn, Llanfihangel', it was then renamed 'Newquay Road' in 1874 and in 1916 renamed 'Bryn Teifi'.
GWR took over the line in 1911 and ran it untill nationalisation in 1948. The line closed to passengers in February 1965. Goods traffic continued from Carmarthen to Pont Llanio until 1973. The line was closed and decommissioned during the summer of 1975.
