One of my favorite TV shows was The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson. If you remember this show, perhaps you also remember the many characters he played in his sketches like Carnac the Magnificent. His sidekick, Ed McMahon, would hand Carnac a series of envelopes, said to have been "sitting inside a mayonnaise jar on Funk & Wagnall's porch since noon today," Johnny would raise the envelope to his forehead and in deep thought and concentration he would give the answer to the question. He would then open the envelope and read the question. Some were very funny, corny, or just awful. If the audience groaned, he might have said, “May the Bird of Paradise fly up your nose!” Of course that would make everyone laugh!
This series of caches is dedicated to this very funny man and his portrayal of Carnac. Each cache title is the answer to a riddle; the question is inside the container. Once you find the cache, you’ll know the question to the riddle. I take no responsibility for your response to these jokes, like Carnac, some even made me groan! The idea is to enjoy a nice walk in the woods and a good laugh.
