Historikk
Nesbygda kirke ligger langt nord i Svelvik kommune, ganske nær grensen til Drammen. Den er et tidligere bedehus med strandtomt. Nesbygda misjonsforening ble stiftet i 1911, og bedehuset ble oppført i 1915 og innviet den 1. januar 1916. Siden er det blitt gitt i gave til Svelvik menighet. Det har gjennomgått flere oppussinger og ombygginger, og det ble innviet som kirkebygg (da titulert som kapell) av biskopen den 15. september 1993. Det er ikke kirkegård her. Svelvik kommune består av bare ett sogn med tre kirkebygg, og de tituleres alle som kirker i dag. Det var bispevisitas i Svelvik i februar 2009.


History
Nesbygda church is located far north in Svelvik municipality, quite near the border of Drammen. It is a former chapel, with a beach site. Nesbygda Mission Society was founded in 1911 and the chapel was built in 1915 and inaugurated on 1 January 1916. Since it has been donated to Svelvik church. It has undergone several renovations and reconstructions, and it was consecrated as a church (then addressed as a chapel) by the bishop on the 15th september 1993. There is no cemetery here. Svelvik municipality consists of only one parish with three churches, and they tituleres all churches today. It was the bishop's visitation in Svelvik in February 2009.
