This cache is just after the last road bridge before the Falls.

This geocaches is No.4 of six caches in a series on the way the Tarawera Falls. All of these are on the main public access road to the Falls, there is no need to go off on any side roads.

The Tarawera Falls are the most spectacular falls in the Bay of Plenty. The Tarawera River disappears before plunging 65 metres down a sheer cliff face before and then down bush lined rapids.

Vehicle access to Tarawera Falls and Outlet is along forest roads, which requires an access permit, costing $5.00 per vehicle.

Directions and Permits are available from the Kawerau Information Centre on Plunket Street, Kawerau, open each day between 9.00 am and 4.00 pm.
