Geocache Description:


We thought some of you would like to visit a little history while you're in the area. Only 3 miles off the well traveled power trail are two very old Charcoal Kilns! Follow the trail and see for yourself! We have marked the trail with 3 caches that will give you an idea how close you are to the kilns. Make sure to check the Difficulty rating and do not proceed unless you are comfortable.


The road to this cache/kiln is probably not for a regular rental car. The road is a bit sandy, and requires somewhat high clearance due to foliage and a ridge in the middle of the road. Also the trees overtake what is barely a road and requires a lot of maneuvering to clear the trees. We made it just fine in a 2WD Toyota Tacoma, however it was very tight in places. I wouldn't take the wife's Civic to this one. We have marked the route to this cache with 3 other caches...
