Geocache Description:

Punchbowl

Punchbowl is a waterhole in the beautiful Onkaparinga Gorge. A geat place to sit and take in the surroundings. The cache is best accessed from the CFS tank on Piggot Range Rd. At the end of the vehicular track a walking track can be picked up to the right of the ridge. Follow around the ridge for a bit before picking up a track turning left. The track is steep in places and slippery when wet. It is maintained by the Friends of the Onkaparinga.
When the river is running (as it was on the day the cache was placed) it's great to listen to the water running over the rocks as you drop down towards the river. The waterholes are popular with young swimmers when the river is flowing.

The cache is a regular sized camoed lunchbox with logbook, pencil and a couple of swaps.

Many thanks to madmal and missus for the idea of placing a cache down here. Their knowledge of the area was invaluable.
