Geocache Description:

This cache is placed near the Highland Drive hiking shelter just off of the North Country National Scenic Trail in Clarion County.  This hiking shelter was constructed in the Fall of 2011 by members of the Clarion Chapter of the North Country Trail Association.

Parking is located at the Highland Drive Trail Head at N 41° 17.956 W 079° 16.834.

Ironically, this shelter was paid for from proceeds earned when the Clarion Chapter had a booth at Geowoodstock in Warren during the 4th of July weekend in 2011. Clarion Chapter sold homemade walking sticks and other trail related merchandise to attendees. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE FOR HELPING US TO RAISE THE MONEY TO CONSTRUCT THIS HIKING SHELTER.

This cache is part of the Clarion North Country Trail GeoTrail (CNCTGT).

This geotrail consists of 20 geocaches hidden along the portion of the North Country National Scenic Trail that was built and is maintained by the Clarion Chapter of the North Country Trail Association. The Clarion Chapter also has set up this geotrail to introduce more people to our trail.

Here’s how it works.

Download the geotrail passport here.

The passport has 20 spaces in which to write a keyword that is contained in each geocache. The 20 geocaches in this geotrail are .30 caliber ammo cans. When you open the geocache, the codeword for the geocache will be written on the lid of the ammo can. Record this code word on your passport.

When you have found all 20 of the CNCTGT geocaches and have the corresponding code words written on the passport, if you wish, follow the instructions on the passport to receive a trackable geocoin commemorating the geotrail.

Thank you and we hope you enjoy the geotrail and our section of the North Country National Scenic Trail.
