Geocache Description:

You are now at the top of the St. George Gorge, also known as the Gorge, First Falls, Rainbow Falls, and Chute Falls. Information found here is taken from the Town of St. George (http://www.town.stgeorge.nb.ca/gorge.html) and Canada's Historic Places (http://www.historicplaces.ca/en/rep-reg/place-lieu.aspx?id=6732).

The first dam was built at the head of the gorge in the 1860's for lumbering purposes. It underwent modification in the 1880's for the granite industry, in 1902 for a pulp mill, in 1954 for a pulp and paper fibre mill, and in 2004 for an electrical power generating plant. Shortly after the dam was built, the salmon ladder was installed to benefit stocks of wild salmon that migrate up the Magaguadavic River to spawn. The falls themselves are 21 meters high. Caves riddle the cliff side, with the rumour being that one leads all the way to Lake Utopia.

Please rehide EXACTLY as found, and Happy Hunting!
