Geocache Description:

A quick park-and-grab near an under-used and under-appreciated park with a great view of downtown.

A camo'd film canister on the edge of Jonathan Rogers Park.

According to the City of Vancouver: "Jonathan Rogers Park offers playing fields, playground, and spots for resting; a lovely community garden adds colour and vitality to the park. Relax on the grassy slopes and take in the views of downtown Vancouver, or bring a sled to celebrate a rare Vancouver snowfall."

Also: "Jonathan Rogers, a native of Wales having arrived on Vancouver’s first passenger train on May 23rd, 1887, was one of the longest serving Park Board Commissioners, 1908 – 1934 plus acting as its Chairman for nine of those years. An untimely illness forced him to retire. He died in 1945 leaving the Park Board $100,000 to develop a park in the vicinity of Broadway and Cambie Street. "

Today, though, this park is under used. You'll often find dogs running in the field in violation of the leash-laws, but no one seems to care. There's also a playground nearby, but it's in pretty sad shape.

The view, however, is fantastic.
