USS Nimitz (CVN-68) is a supercarrier in the United States Navy. She is one of the largest warships in the world. The ship was named for World War II Pacific fleet commander Chester W. Nimitz, who was the Navy’s last fleet admiral.

The USS Nimitz took part in the shooting of the movie The Final Countdown and played a central role in the film.
