Roadside view of The Rock hill.
Known colloquially as "Lion of the Plains" or Kengal, The Rock Hill was originally known as "Hanging Rock" until 1874 when a rock fall changed the shape to the one you see from this spot. Now called just "The Rock" it has an elevation of 514 metres.
If you are feeling energetic there is a cache at the top, and several others in the surrounding district.
The hill looks magnificent at sunrise and sunset with the changing colours and you can sometimes even see the markings of the "lion's" mane and coat.
Worth taking the camera with you for a photo.
