Brandkogel beim Alten Almhaus (1.648m Seehöhe)
Dieser Cache führt uns zum Gipfelkreuz des Brandkogels. Leider hat ein Sturm im Winter 2011/12 das Kreuz zerstört. Es hatte eine Höhe von 18 Metern und wurde 1953 errichtet. Eine Gedenktafel weist auf den Sinn des übergroßen Kreuzes hin: “ Den Gefallenen beider Weltkriege zum Gedenken“.
Zur Zeit liegt es am Boden.
Es ist aber geplant noch in diesem Jahr (2012) ein neues, ähnlich großes Kreuz zu errichten.
Unter dem Gipfel ist das Soldatenhaus zu sehen.
Dort wohnen über den Sommer die Lipizzaner aus Piber.
Der Cache liegt unter einem Stein in der Umgebung des Gipfels.

Brandkogel near “Altes Almhaus” (1.648m above sea level)
This cache leads us to the top of the Brandkogel. Unfortunately, a storm in the winter 2011/12 destroyed the large peak cross. It had a height of 18 meters and was built in 1953. A memorial indicates the sense of this over-sized cross: "The dead of both world wars in memory." Currently it lies on the ground.
It is planned later this year (2012) to build a new, similarly large cross. Under the peak, the “Soldatenhaus” can be seen.
There lives the Lipizzaner horses from Piber over the summer..
The cache is hidden under a stone near the peak. Enjoy the view!
