One of a series from Nibbin and the Rascal our 9 year old - based upon a splendid walking/cycling route from our home. The series is NIbbin's NO Thorns or Ivy (NINOTORI).
The walk/ride starts on a bridle way in North Abingdon where we live - parking can be found in nearby South Avenue. This bridle way once lead from the edge of the town into the countryside around - it now passes a large housing estate and in places still retains the signs of the old hedgerow that marked the route. This, the last, and tenth cache is at the end of the private road, Lincombe Lane – which is a public footpath as well! The view from here is great and so is the ride down the hill to the village – take care there are a couple of drains off the main path and cows grazing which can throw you off a bike. Recent fencing to accommodate deer has made getting a bike through tricky. And cache was moved because the gates are such a nuisance - ill soften your hnds - at the base of the post 4 metres from tyhe bencvh- tuck me in! There are several caches in Sunningwell you can pick up on your way back to our starting point in North Abingdon. No hints are offered - we will give a hint if too many people fail to find it. All our caches are pain free - we cannot bear scrabbling through countless ivy bushes/trees - or getting stung, scratched or torn to shreds for pleasure thus no thorns or ivy (NINOTORI) - enjoy.
