Geocache Description:

POSEIDON, brother to Zeus and Hades, is ruler of the oceans and seas, and of the horse, the noble animal he created to win the love of Demeter, the fair Earth goddess. His weapon, the trident, can shake the earth, and shatter any object. His home is a palace of coral and rock in the depths of the sea near Aegae, where he keeps his horses with brazen hooves and golden manes. With them, Poseidon travels across the seas, which quiet as he aproaches, as the monsters of the deep recognize him, and come to play by his chariot.

You'll find Poseidon, homesick and forlorn, far from his ocean element, but with a star of the sea to guide him home.

Team El Fartero presents this tribute to the mythological deities of the ancient world. They may make poor role models, but their stories are never dull and will never grow old. Take the journey and discover the Spirits that may still lurk in the moonlit wilderness, or if not there, at your local Cinema chain!

The Olympic Odyssey series consists of 12 caches, each individually crafted and stocked in tribute to their divine inspiration. It is the product of many weeks of planning and preparation, and will bring an afternoon of surprise and adventure to the geocacher who seeks them. Ten of them contain a coordinate which will lead you to the Mount Olympus final, where the gods have prepared a fitting cornocopia to reward your valor and heroism.

Completion of the series will take about 5 hours, and requires 5 miles of hiking, with some climbing and bushwhacking. Start your journey at the posted Parking Coordinates, where you can enjoy a picnic before beginning your quest.
