Platte County Parks & Recreation, partnering with the City of Parkville, Missouri welcomes all to celebrate National Trails Day at English Landing Park in Parkville, Missouri. This year we would like to introduce Geocaching for the first time to this annual event.
This event will be held on June 2nd from 10am to noon at English Landing Park.
The Plan: We at Platte County Parks have been fortunate this year to have a pair of volunteers from the Northland Geocaching community helping us with all the geocaches in our parks. With their help several temporary caches have been placed in English Landing Park. All are within a short walking distance. A Geocaching table will be set up and if any National Parks Day attendee (muggles as you refer to them as) wants an introduction to Geocaching that is where you come into the picture. Please attend our National Trails Day event and volunteer your time to get a new family into the hobby we all love. Bring along your GPSR and wisdom to share with your new muggle friend you may encounter. Just think you have the opportunity to take a new geocacher to there very first Geocache.
This event will be geared towards you giving back your Geocaching knowledge to the new recruits, but you'll be rewarded immediately following this event, with a whole afternoon of advanced Geocaching at the next event.
