Geocache Description:

APHRODITE, born of the sea-foam of the slain Titan, Uranus, emerged from a scallop shell perfectly formed as the goddess of love, desire, and beauty. Artful in words, smiles and glances, Aphrodite wantonly aroused the desire of any man or god who caught her fancy. To reward Paris, son of Priam, King of Troy, who chose her as "the fairest" above her rivals, Hera and Athena, Aphrodite enchanted Helen, the lovely wife of Menelaus, King of Sparta, to fall in love with Paris, who kidnapped her and carried her off to Troy. Thus began the Trojan Wars, which waged for ten years, and cost the lives of many warriors.

You will win the heart of Aphrodite when you discover her cache, waiting for you with anticipation beside a shimmering lake.

Team El Fartero presents this tribute to the mythological deities of the ancient world. They may make poor role models, but their stories are never dull and will never grow old. Take the journey and discover the Spirits that may still lurk in the moonlit wilderness, or if not there, at your local Cinema chain!

The Olympic Odyssey consists of 12 caches, each individually crafted and stocked in tribute to their divine inspiration. It is the product of many weeks of planning and preparation, and will bring an afternoon of surprise and adventure to the geocacher who seeks them. Ten of them contain a coordinate which will lead you to Mount Olympus, where the gods have prepared a fitting cornocopia to reward your valor and heroism.

Completion of the series will take about 5 hours, and requires 5 miles of hiking, with some climbing and bushwhacking. Start your journey at the posted Parking Coordinates, where you can enjoy a picnic before beginning your quest.
