This cache is located on the storied Presidio Hills Golf Course. Established in 1932, this is one of the oldest golf courses in town. In fact, the clubhouse is located in what is thought to be the first residential structure built in San Diego, the venerable Casa De Carrillo.
Believe it or not, there are 18 holes squeezed into this small parcel of land. If you intend to play, you won't need more than a pitching wedge or 9-iron and a putter; every hole is a par-3 and none are more than 100 yards.
For years, Presidio Hills hosted the Under-8 Division of the Callaway Junior World Championships. So yes, Eldrick ("Tiger") Woods did play here as a boy. As did Phil Mickelson, Corey Pavin, Ernie Els, Lorena Ochoa, and many others.
The coordinates will take you to the historical landmark located just behind the clubhouse. From there, you will have to gather some information to determine the location of the final. But before you go, take a moment to sit on the nearby bench, enjoy the shade, maybe watch a few golfers putter around, and take in some local San Diego history.
As you walk to the cache, please watch out for the golfers who have paid to play the course. Be respectful of their game, give them a wide berth, and be on the lookout for possible stray shots. Stealth and discretion will be key in avoiding unwanted muggle interference. I recommend hugging the fence along the southwest side of number 10.
