It’s time for World Wide Flash Mob IX!
The World Wide Flash Mob Event! Dozens of events all over the world, coordinated to happen at the same time to bring together geocachers and introduce others (newbies) to the geoaching.
This event will last EXACTLY 15 minutes long, not a second longer.
The event will begin precisely at 1:00 PM on June 9. The event will be held at the Oakleaf Town Center's parking area. This is an open space good for a Paper Plane Contest and prove just how far your airplanes can fly. The event will be organized and facilitated by volunteers. A minute-by-minute iternerary is posted. I will also have printed copies of this event itinarary distributed at the event.
The Schedule:
At exactly 1:00 PM, I will place a bucket at the posted coordinates. At this point all geocachers will converge, coming out of nowhere. The bucket will have the Official paper for this contest. Yep, you will build your airplane on site so no homemade paper planes.
At 1:01 PM, Log Sheets/raffle tickets (same sheet) along with special paper for airplane construction will be distributed. Participants will sign the log sheet (which will become the log book), to qualify for attendence and drop them in a designated collection box. BRING A PEN.
If any muggles are curious about the event, there will be fliers handed out to explain geocaching.
At 1:03 PM, Paper plane construction will begin. We will have some paper plane building instructions for those that need them. How fast can you build a paper plane? Practice at home before the event.
At 1:07 PM, Paper Plane Contest. We all will throw our paper planes and see who goes the farthest. The winner will claim a prize.
At 1:09 PM, The traditional event "meal" Hershey Kisses will be distributed.
At 1:10 PM, we will take a group picture.
At 1:12 PM, I will call out the raffle winners. One of the raffle items will be the FTF honors certificate.
At percisely 1:15 PM the bucket, and the log sheets will be packed up and sealed away. The event area will be vacated without a trace! Only those participants whose names appear on the log sheets may log the event.
Tell your friends and help promote the event. Also please indicate in your will attend log if you would be willing to help as a volunteer(which would be greatly appreciated!)
