The cache is one of a series that celebrates "UBUNTU". This is a typically African concept which recognises the mutual support that we all offer to one another - in Africa, a child is considered to have been brought up by the whole village.
"I am what I am because of who we all are."
We interpret this to mean we all support others, wherever they are in the world.
The cache is placed in a compound for safekeeping in the fantastically friendly town of Brufut in The Gambia. It's near the beach and next to Ghana Town where you can experience fish at it's freshest.
A "Real Gambia Holiday" welcome is a real feeling of UBUNTU as you meet the locals in this compound. Faffa, Solomon, Taffa, Lammin, Jammeh and others will all put themselves out to ensure that any visitors are welcome and their needs are met - this is their UBUNTU to you – experience and enjoy it.
The compound links to UBUNTU 1 only in as much as the owners, local people and many of the UK visitors all support the place where UBUNTU 1 is located.
