Welcome to the Sunset Ranch Trail at the Prairie Lakes Unit of Three Lakes Wildlife Management Area. The trail consists of a 1.8 mile short loop and a 2.6 mile long loop terminating with a .2 mile spur leading to the northern edge of Lake Marian. Along the trail you will find a wildlife viewing blind, a picnic area in a live oak hammock, a boardwalk over wetlands and an observation deck overlooking Lake Marian.
You are looking for an ammo can that initially contains traditional swag items including geocoins, trackables, miscellaneous items and an envelope containing a special prize for the FTF. Cache is a little off the beaten path, but no bushwhacking is required.
There is a daily use fee ($3 per person or $6 per vehicle). The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission requests that you use the honor system at the pay station located at the entrance. Through hikers on the Florida Trail, persons over 65, and persons younger than 12 are exempt from the daily fee. Hunting is not allowed on this part of the WMA. Visitors should be aware of and abide by all area regulations before hiking in the Wildlife Management Area.
