Geocache Description:

Cache is located at The Old Train Station in Chester, placed at the request of and with permission from the Chester Municipal Heritage Society. The Train Station now houses the Visitor Information Center and an Oak Island Display so please drop in and check those out while there.

For over 200 years people have searched for the answer to the puzzle that is Oak Island.  Hundreds of thousands of dollars, brilliant strategies and clear minds have not cracked the code of what has become the longest running and most famous treasure hunt in the world.

Who did the original work?  Was it the Spanish with their plunder taken from Native peoples of central and South America, or was it the lost treasure of the Templar Knights led by Prince Henry Sinclair? Could it actually be pirate treasure ripped from the hold of countless vessels over the years of their blood letting activities? Some believe Oak Island has a more incredible explanation with UFOs from other worlds having a hand in the workings and deposit.  Others say Vikings, lost civilizations, an inverted pyramid, the lost manuscripts of Sir Francis bacon and pure fabricated bunko are also explanations that have made the excuse for the flurry of activity that has gripped human imagination for over 200 years.

Celebrities such as American President Franklin Roosevelt and Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau have been involved and six people have died looking to for an answer to the mystery of Oak Island, but why?  Visit the Explore Oak Island Display at 20 Smith Road in Chester to see a very exciting display including rare artifacts, perhaps you will come up with the answer.  Visit our web site here to learn more;
