This cache is a small PETling tube hidden “in” a rock just across the road opposite a cross which was erected in 1994 to mark an annual walk undertaken in May every year and organized by ‘Afri’ starting in 1988 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the famine and especially an event which happened on this route March 30th - 31st 1849.
There are a number of very interesting inscriptions around the base of the cross which you can discover for yourselves, also for more info on Afri click this link http://www.afri.ie/afri-famine-walk/
The ‘Afri’ walk as well as commemorating the Irish famine is also a means of expressing friendship and solidarity with modern day victims of war and injustice who continue to suffer poverty, famine & violence as a result.
To find the container you need to look the other side of the road where you’ll see a Gorse bush on the road side, 2m behind that again a large clump or tuft of sedge grass, to the right of which is a small rock sticking up. That’s all I’ll say & otherwise check out the spoiler.
You may have to wait a while to get your hands on the cache because this place is very popular with Muggles taking photos and sure you may be tempted yourself. The same applies for parking,
Please reseal and hide the container so it’s not visible. Thanks
