Geocache Description:

A toll gate was set up on Portobello Road in the late 1800s to help fund the building and maintaining on Portobello Road.

This micro cache is placed at ground level near where the toll gate used to be.

The gate was run by the Hinkley family until 1908.  They also had a market garden above the road and cabbages can still be seen (if you look closely) growing on the banks today more than 100 years later.

Parking is difficult near the cache site because this can be a busy road at times.  Watch your junior cachers carefully if you need to cross the road.

You will need a pen to sign the log.
