Geocache Description:


This is an unusual milestone cache. I never have met The Once-Ler. I did see the Lorax movie but never had the pleasure of meeting this cacher. n9tog ran into him going for a cache once and they exchanged pleasantries. Other than that, the only connection I had with The Once-ler was his online logs for my caches. They were always clever and had some humor.

The other day, someone posted a note in the geocacher group I am a member of on a social media website. They mentioned that they loved the log they received for one of their hides. When you clicked the link, it was a log by the Once-ler. After that, a few others chimed in about funny logs they received. n9tog noticed that The Once-ler had recently surpassed 1000 finds and suggested to me that we hide a milestone cache for him. Soon after he suggested this, I received a log from The Once-ler for a puzzle cache n9 and I hid for Tachoknight's 1000 that requires you to listen to a clip to gain the coordinates (visit link) It made me laugh and I agreed we should put one out.

Today I was out grabbing a few in the Skokie Lagoons and brought a lock-n-lock with me and found a nice place for it. According to the Once-Ler's GC profile, he is a Veterinarian. I suppose it was appropriate that I had just signed in to KodyDOG's 2000 and another cache that is a tribute to BIRDman before hiding this.
