Cranberry Lake Trail #5 Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Team Outlander: We need to archive this geocache as we no longer live in the area which makes it hard to keep up on these. I plan to keep #1 up as it is well hidden and I can maintain it but just can not handle all 5 being away from that area.

Geocache Description:

This Cache is number 5 in the Cranberry Lake Trail Geocache series.  It is located around Hainesville's Cranberry Lake. There is a wood chip path around the entire lake which can be accessed from various places.

For much of its modern existence, Cranberry Lake has been hidden from the public by buckthorn, honeysuckle and other invasive species.

That the circular kettle lake, formed 16,000 year ago by melting glaciers, represents a rare example of what the landscape looked like centuries ago.

It is currently being restored to its native look and has come a long way.

Take a walk on the wood chip trail, grab this cache and see what you might not have noticed years ago while driving on Hainesville Road.

There is also a challenge you can complete for walking the trail - http://coord.info/CX13FD
