Snowing on the Downs Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

kdcypress: I recently discovered some changes to the Groundspeak guidelines regarding the hiding of geocaches,in April 2012 Groundspeak changed the guidelines and the pertinent line in the guidelines now is "If one has to dig or break ground to hide or to find the cache, then the cache is not permitted."
I recently submitted 2 caches for review in which the caches were above ground but some props were used that broke the ground. In one a short peg was put into the ground with the cache container hidden on top of the peg, another a fake stand pipe was put into the ground to stop it from falling over. To my way of thinking if anyone hides a cache in,on,near or next to props that break the ground (tree`s,posts, fences or signs etc) they are in contravention of the above mentioned guideline. As I like to play by the rules I have archived this cache to be on the safe side, thanks. kdcypress.

Geocache Description:

You can put your feet up & have a cuppa with this cache. It is a small/medium sixed cache with a little room for collectables. To start with I have left some goodies- a gold ingot trackable, a party popper and a trackable fridge magnet named "iamapom".

This area of the downs is probably most noted in recent times for cotton farming. There are 3 cotton gins locally with 2 in Dalby and 1 in Cecil Plains to the south. During cotton season the roads a lined with cotton that has fallen from the trucks carting cotton from farm to gin, giving the illusion especially late in the season the look of snow lined roads. The cache is located along the road to one of the cotton gins and across from a recent housing development on the southern edge of Dalby.
