Geocache Description:

Daisy says “This is one of my favourite places to come with my friends. I love running through the long grass. I like meeting other dogs here and it’s nice because there aren’t that many people around”

IF YOU ARE GEOCACHING WITH YOUR DOG PLEASE FEEL FREE TO TAKE A TOY WITHOUT REPLACING IT IN EXCHANGE FOR A PICTURE OF YOUR DOG WITH THE TOY. I WILL KEEP IT STOCKED UP.

Stockwood open space is a nature reserve and after research on several maps including Google earth and the link below, one path divides the border of the reserve. The cache has been placed off the other side of the path just out of the reserve. (visit link)

I think the reserve is a nice open space to come for a walk and it is also a very good spot for Blackberry picking and has one picnic bench.

There are a few ways into the nature reserve but the main points are at Burgis road/Whittock road, Stockwood, which makes this a cache and dash.

Hungerford Gardens, Brislington, BS4 5HB where the footpath starts along the outside of the golf course, unfortunately this isn’t the best kept footpath but after 5 minutes and past the golf course it opens up nicely but misses most of the reserve.

There is also parking on The Coots/Stockwood Road. This is the other side of the nature reserve which means you can enjoy and explore this lovely area.

The reserve has a footpath running along the edge of the reserve but if walking through the reserve half of the way is through well beaten track that a sturdy, all terrain pushchair could go on, although a little tricky in a few short places.

Area can become muddy during wet weather and the cache has been placed amongst heavy undergrowth with nettles dotted around so trousers recommended.

You are looking for a large food clip box wrapped in a leaf patterned bag.

If you are swapping an item please ONLY LEAVE DOG TOYS.
