Park at the "Wildlife View" parking area and follow the trail for as long as you can. You should be able to get to within two hundred feet of the cache on 1.5 star terrain. The 3.5 star terrain is only for the last 100 feet or so. The cache should be okay for kids and dogs if they're well behaved. Tulu had no problem following me to GZ. If your dog (or child) isn't well behaved and tends to wander I'd suggest leaving them at home.
The container is located along a rock ridge, hidden in the rocks and covered with a couple of rocks. It's a 2Qt camo painted lock & lock.
On the day Tulu and I placed the cache we saw a big mule deer and an osprey. For the best views of the lake and dam go down the ridge from the cache location to the northwest.
