Do not park at the school across the way during school hours. Parking is available off of Eldredge Park Way within a few feet of the cache.
The cache is named after one of the teams that play there, the Orleans Firebirds (formerly the Orleans Cardinals) of the Cape Cod Baseball League. The Cape Cod Baseball League is the number one collegiate summer league in the country.
During the Cape League season, which runs Mid-June thru mid-August, visit early in the morning and stake your spot with your beach chair or blanket for the evening's game. Games are free to attend. You can see future Major Leaguers play and then meet and greet them following the game. Some players that have played for Orleans include Nomar Garciapara, Mark Texeira, Matt Weiters, Frank Thomas and JT Snow among others.
You can also catch the Nauset Storm (amateur soccer) and Cape Cod Women's Soccer league games at the field as well.
