Can't believe in all these years I'd never been up here. Now is your chance, you will be glad you did it.
Easy drive. Nice road. Two wheel drive. Less than a mile from the highway. Round trip driving time about 8 minutes. Park within about 30 feet of cache. Great 360 degree views. See all of Mono Lake. See to the ski slopes of June Mtn and Mammoth Mtn. See West to Dunderburg peak. See North to Bridgeport Reservoir. See East to Boundry Peak, the highest point in Nevada. Too easy to require a hint. Enter driveway/parking lot from hwy and go to left of buildings to access the road.
This point on the highway is the highest point on Hwy 395 between Mexico and Canada.
