Cache #1 in Batam, Indonesia. 1st in the series of "Rest" caches. More to come perhaps, in other rest trips.
Been working non-stop over the past year, without a real holiday. Taking these 2 days rest has to some extent rejuvenated the soul & mind to a certain extent.

A simple getaway to kinda "waste time" and "do nothing consequential". Me thinks the charm is in the corners which one can retreat in quietness, or, with music plugged in.
Other than looking for the cache, you could consider lounging at this spot, which has a great view, and nice breeze kissing your cheeks, while you watch the clouds pass by. :) Do remember to slap on the sunblock though - the shade can be deceiving while the sun bakes your skin. ;)

Location of cache:
Walk along the path leading towards the Cabanas (Rooms 11-12). The cache is located right beside the path. If you are game enough to catch beautiful sunrises, this spot is nice for catching some nice pictures. There is also Level 5 of the nearby hotel room block - nice, higher level view of the Sunrise. Time of sunrise is usually 5.30am - 6am. Check with hotel staff if you'd like.

PS: The grounds can be roamed by non-hotel guests, as long as we do not walk into their rooms / use their pool.

From Singapore Habour Front Ferry Terminal:
- Nearest MRT: Harbour Front MRT (North-East Line (Purple) / Circle Line (Yellow))
- Walk to Exit leading to Harbourfront Centre.
- Ticketing Counters for ferries on Level 3.
- Purchase ticket for Water Front City.
- Total journey time: 70 minutes.
- Frequency of Ferries: 2 times per day.
- Price: USD20-25 per person one-way trip.
At Water Front City, Batam:
- 10-15 minutes walk to Resort where Cache is.
- Shuttle buses runs as well - you might want to check if it's possible to hitch on one.
