Geocache Description:

A Musclewood grove is the home of this cache. In the cache is a two-sided page with information on Musclewood which is usually considered a "weed tree" but, is actually a valuable component of our forest environment.

This is not a long walk off the road but it could be a bit mushy at times. Don't worry too much if it is very wet, saturated soil compacts less than damp soil. Do try to observe Leave No Trace principles so this cache can remain where it is. Enjoy the rare (not unique) nearly pure stand of Carpinus caroliniana! This cache is located in Allegay State Park Red House Side. At times, there is an entrance fee to get into the park Permit 296
