There is a trail that leads from the road, down to near where the cache is, but it mostly follows a dry creekbed and it's not very scenic. The trailhead coordinates are provided but there really isn't a path down from the roadway berm.
The suggested route is to start by the parking location and bush-whack down to the cache taking advantage of open grassy slopes (especially off to the left a bit). Enjoy the wild flowers and be careful on the mossy, slippery rocks.
It's also possible to angle right until you see the marked trail (orange flagging tape).
If you follow the trail down, don't descend too far down the slope as you may find you're on the wrong side.
Reference Point RPR is where the flagged trail from the road brings you to an alpine clearing. It's the top of the right side. You can take the flgged trail down the right side from this point for spectacular views and some tricky terrain. You may even see the cache. To retrieve the cache, from this point you need to go across the slope about 120 M to near the other reference point before dropping down the left side. There's a faint trail for part of the way.
Reference Point RPL is the top of the left side. You need to be near this point before dropping down to the cache. There is no actual trail down. Stay to the right but not too close to it. Make your way down carefully.
The cache is not exactly at the posted coordinates, but once you realize what the "hide" is, drawing the cache towards you should be simple enough. Just be careful.
Bumped up the dif/ter rating a bit as the terrain near the cache is daunting and extreme. But safe as long as you're careful and go slow.
