This is a cool place near where the old Gold Ray Dam site,once was.
It shows many of the artifacts and info on the Dam,on interpretive signs.
This is a remote place.there is only one road in;-John Day.
I suppose you could access from the Rogue river,in a boat.
From the parking waypoint,to the top of the hill where the water tower is;-the elevation is about 222' UP!
There is a dirt road to walk up,but the last 100' is your choice of terrain.
(Poison Oak around the tower,but can be avoided).
Great views of the river and surrounding country from this location
