Chapelle construite par Josèphe Odelin à l'emplacement d'un petit oratoire privé, dédié à Notre-Dame. Après l'exploit de Blériot, qui traverse la Manche en avion pour la première fois la même année, Notre-Dame du Platin devient la patronne des aviateurs puis un peu plus tard des marins.
