Geocache Description:

This is a regular cache set to honor everyone who has endured the incessant road construction in Berwick for last year. The cache was inspired by a submission to phone-in editorial section of the local paper in which the writer suggested how he could be paid for the inconvenience. Camoed cannister with plenty of room for swag and travel bugs. An appropriate FTF prize is included. Happy hunting.

The roads in the town of Berwick have been torn apart for the last year for improvements to services and resurfacing. The work quality has been poor inspiring many to to complain to a phone-in editorial section of the local paper, The Berwick Press Enterprise. The section is appropriately called "30 Seconds" because callers can spout for 30
seconds on any topic and the editor will most likely print it. (They
take e-mails too) This cache is inspired by the following submission:

"I'm going to sue Berwick. From driving on those rough roads
the gas in my tank slushes around so much that it has all
evaporated. Someone owes me a tank of gas. Also, I had a
pair of fuzzy dice hanging from my rearview mirror and they
flopped around so much the the string broke. Now who's going
to pay for that? But I will settle out of court. If they will put
some money in a mayonnaise jar and toss it in the shrubbery.
Disgruntled driver
Berwick"

(Printed in the Berwick Press-Enterprise 4-19-2012)

Treasure in the shrubs? Ruh-roh! Sounds like a geocache to us. Couldn't get the smell out the mayonnaise jar, so We found something equivalent, and placed an appropriate "settlement" for the FTF.
We called to "30 Seconds" to announce that the "Disgruntled driver" can find his/her "Out of Court Settlement" via geocaching.com in the very near future. Took a little longer than expected due to difficulty obtaining permission from our first choice (they couldn't get an answer from "corporate") so we found a better one. It's right in the middle of the main construction zone. Lots of traffic during the day, so use stealth, particularly at meal times.

It's about a quart-sized camoed container with lots of room for swag and travelers if desired (Once the settlement has been collected).

Feel free to post your picture of any egregious construction practices. Thanks to the manager for permission. And the newspaper for continuing the very entertaining column that no body cadmits to reading yet everyone seems to know what's in it.

Congratulations to midas1 for FTF.
