Cache is in a nice city park, benches and parking are nearby, and the river is a fun place for my kids to play in (or on, depending on the season) pretty much year round.
There are a bunch of caches along the river's edge trail. I didn't actually count them so the cache name is just a guess, but enough that they could become a cache trail--you know, like the ET highway, only smaller...and mostly doable by bike or on foot...and more than just film cans. Except there are a few gaps. This spot was one of those gaps, just far enough from the closest other caches to be outside the 528ft limit.
This was originally a large cache in a bench/table structure. The city tore that feature out, so I hid a small cache in the rock pile that was left. Then they completely wiped out the rocks and any interesting place to hide a good sized cache in the area, so I was left with pretty much a tree cache or nothing. I utterly despise tree caches, but alas, I have now sunk so far as to hang a small container in a russian olive tree.
