CPL100 Shawnessy Library Letterbox Hybrid

This cache has been archived.

Cache Effect: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

As part of the Calgary Public Library's centennial celebrations, they are launching an exciting new initiative - Library Scavenger Hunt - 100 years, 100 treasures. GPS units will be available at all library locations which can be used to search for geocaches in the vicinity of each library. Some of these geocaches will be existing hides and some will be completely new.

This letterbox cache is a bit different. The hunt takes place within the Shawnessy Public Library. The coordinates given for this letterbox cache are at approximately the front check out desk. This is your starting point for the hunt!

From the front desk, walk toward the first group of public computers you see. You'll notice that some of them are for searching the library catalogue and some give you free access to the internet providing you have a valid library card.

From the computers, scan the library for a visible clock way across the room. Moving in this direction, you must pass three stacks of Adult Non-Fiction books.

Walking just a little bit farther will bring you to the fourth stack of books. Check out the second shelf from the top. Does anything look out of place here? If you are really stuck...there is a hint.

Turn around. At this point you will find a great place to sit down and read a great library book or to sign the geocache logbook. If you have your own stamp feel free to stamp the logbook and if you don't, a good old fashioned writing stick will do!

The hours are:
Monday to Thursday: 10 am - 9 pm
Friday and Saturday: 10 am - 6 pm
Sunday: 12 noon - 5 pm
*The Library is closed on Sundays after May 13 and opens again on September 9.

The library is also closed on Holidays.

Congratulations to Accura11 on FTF!
