This can be done as a cache and dash or park up in the lay by and enjoy the view. When the sun is right it's an ideal spot to photograph the Vale of Ffestiniog.
The cache site overlooks the village of Llan Ffestiniog and the town of Blaenau Ffestiniog. In the distance stands the Moelwyn Mawr and Moelwyn Bach and the Stwlan Dam. The Stwlan reservoir is part of the Ffestiniog Pumped Storage Scheme, commissioned in 1963 the first major pumped storage facility in the UK. Travel on north to Blaenau Ffestiniog and it's numerous attractions and fantastic walks or travel south for some less challenging walks around Trawsfynydd lake
