The Tinsmiths Tower was built in the 16th century and was part of the third precinct. The tower from the line of the fortification walls was torn down in 1877, together with the wall section in front of the theatre.

[RO] Turnul Zincarilor. Fostul Turn al Zincarilor sau a Fierarilor a fost construit in secolul XVI si a făcut parte din incinta a treia de fortificaţii din jurul Sibiului. Turnul de pe aliniamentul zidurilor de fortificaţie a fost demolat în 1877, împreună cu tronsonul de zid din faţa teatrului. In carcasa subzidirilor fostului turn de apărare s-au amenajat scări metalice pentru acces pietonal. Astfel fostul turn s-a reintegrat în noul ansamblu de clădiri printr-o reconstituire volumetrică pe două nivele.
In imediata apropiere a turnului se află Sala Thalia. Sala a fost construită în anul 1787 de Martin Hochmeister. In lipsa unui spaţiu necesar în centrul oraşului s-a hotărât construirea teatrului în Turnul Gros (construit în 1540) din centura de apărare a oraşului. Construcţia a fost înălţată într-un an de zile astfel că în luna iunie 1788 a avut loc primul spectacol. Sala a fost mistuită de flăcări de două ori în 1826 şi în 1949. Intre anii 1990-2004 sala a fost reconstruită şi astăzi ea găzduieşte Filarmonica de Stat Sibiu.

[DE] Der ehemalige Turm der Zinkbearbeiter oder Spengler Turm wurde im sechzehnten Jahrhundert gebaut und war Teil des dritten Innenrings der Befestigungen rund um Hermannstadt. Der Turm an der Stadtmauer wurde im Jahre 1877 abgerissen, zusammen mit dem Mauerabschnitt vor dem Theater.

[HU] A volt Bádogosok tornya, a szebeni harmadik védőfal övezetnek része, a 16. században épült. A tornyot a színház elötti falszakasszal együtt 1877-ban lebontották. Az egykori védelmi torony alapzatában fém lépcsőket rendeztek be, leröviditve az útat a színház alagsora és a Cetatii utca között. A volt tornyot századunk elején 2 szint magasságában újraépítették, jól visszailleszve az épületegyüttesbe.
A torony mellett van a Kövér (Vastag) torony, mely 1540-ben épült, kőből és téglából. Ebben hozta létre 1787-ben Martin Hochmeister nyomdász az első német ajkú színházát. A színház egy év alatt épült fel és 1788 júniusában megtartották az első előadást. A termet kétszer pusztította el tűzvész 1826-ban és 1949-ben. 1990-2004 között az egészet átépítették, és ma a Nagyszebeni Állami Filharmónia otthona. A terem mostani neve: Thália terem.
