Geocache Description:

The Puddling dam is aproximatly 170m off the road and is a relatively easy walk for a person of average fitness. The cache is about 30m further on due to Harrisins cache being nearby.

Cache is a 400ml Clip Top Container with log and pencil and room for small swaps.

Walk along the dam wall beside the historic Harrisons Eucalyptus Distillery and you come to a series of water races and this visble and rather deep example of a Puddling Dam of some sort. If you are agile have a look down the centre of the concrete and see how rocks were placed in a ring underneath it. I am unsure as to whether it was part of the Distillery or was to do with Gold Mining? Google has not been of much help, so if anyone knows more about this please let me know.

A big thanks goes to MrIwik for showing me this place- he found this Dam (and other interesting things in the area) whilst doing many controlled burns with DSE in the Enfield area over summer.
